The Savings Bank hosted a webinar designed to help customers and the public recognize scams and prevent elders from falling victim. Conducted by Cheryl A. Cannon, Training Officer at The Savings Bank and former Statewide Director of the Massachusetts Money Management Program under the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, the Protecting Your Parents from Elder Scams webinar identified common scams and provided information and resources that are available to elders and their families if they fall victim to a scam or scams.
The webinar allowed participants to gain valuable insight into scams targeting the elderly and how to prevent them from the presenter who has extensive experience as a Financial Abuse Specialist Team Advisory Council member for the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, Senior Medicare Patrol Advisory Board member, and as a member of the Commonwealth’s Financial Literacy Task Force. Participants were able to ask questions throughout the webinar.
